Privacy Policy

Last updated 30 August 2026

The short version

  • We have no server that sees what you type. There is no account, no sign-up, and nothing you type is sent to us — ever.
  • Typing stays on your phone. Corrections, suggestions, learned words and on-device skills all run locally.
  • Text leaves your device only when you ask it to — when you open the AI panel or run a skill marked “Uses AI”. Only the text in the field at that moment is sent, and only then.
  • No analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no profiles. We do not sell or share your data, and there is no third-party analytics or crash-reporting code in the app.

This policy explains what the Kamry keyboard for iOS does with your information. It is written to describe how the app actually behaves, not to cover every eventuality in the abstract.

Who we are

Kamry is made by AbrossIT LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in India. For anything in this policy, write to official@abrossit.com. AbrossIT LLP is the data controller (or “data fiduciary” under Indian law) for the limited processing described below.

What stays on your device

The following never leaves your phone. It is not uploaded, backed up to us, or visible to us in any form:

  • Everything you type, and every correction or suggestion made while you type
  • Words you add to the keyboard’s dictionary, and word pairs it learns from your writing
  • Your settings, your installed skills, their key bindings and any icons you choose
  • Emoji you have used recently
  • Skills that run on-device — including transliteration, text transforms and formatting

This data is stored in the app’s own private storage on your device. Deleting the app deletes all of it.

Words and phrases the keyboard learns

To improve its suggestions, the keyboard can remember pairs of words you often type together. This is deliberately narrow:

  • Both words must already exist in the English dictionary bundled with the app. Names, addresses, numbers, passwords, email addresses and handles are not in that dictionary, so they are never recorded.
  • Nothing is recorded while you are typing in a password field, a secure field, or a field marked by the app you are using as an email address, web address or number.
  • You can turn this off entirely in the Kamry app, and you can view and delete every learned pair there.

What accumulates is a preference, not a transcript — and it stays on your device regardless.

What leaves your device, and when

AI features

Kamry sends text off your device in exactly one situation: when you deliberately ask it to. That means holding the space bar to open the AI panel, or running a skill that is marked “Uses AI”.

When you do, the app sends the text currently in the field you are typing in, together with the instruction for the action you chose. Nothing is sent in the background, on a schedule, or while you are simply typing.

That request goes to one of two AI providers, whichever is selected in the app’s settings:

ProviderWhat it receivesTheir policy
Google (Gemini API)The text you asked about and the instructionpolicies.google.com/privacy
OpenRouterThe text you asked about and the instructionopenrouter.ai/privacy

Once text reaches a provider, that provider’s policy governs what happens to it. We do not receive a copy, and we do not keep one.

One thing worth knowing. OpenRouter routes requests to underlying model providers, and some of the free models it offers may use the text submitted to them to improve their models. If that matters for what you are writing, do not use the AI features for it. Everything else in the keyboard — typing, correction, suggestions, on-device skills — works without sending anything anywhere.

Purchases

Kamry Pro is sold through Apple’s In-App Purchase system. We never see your payment details — Apple handles the transaction and does not share your card, billing address or Apple Account with us.

We use RevenueCat to check whether a subscription is active. RevenueCat is given a randomly generated identifier for your installation and the purchase receipt issued by Apple. It is not given your name, your email address, or anything you type. We use this only to unlock the features you paid for and to restore them if you reinstall.

App configuration

The app periodically retrieves its configuration from a server we operate, so that settings such as which AI model is used can be updated without shipping a new version. This request contains no personal data and none of your text. As with any web request, our server receives the connecting IP address, which is used only to serve the response and is not linked to you or to any use of the app.

Full Access

iOS asks whether to grant a custom keyboard “Full Access”. Kamry uses it for two things: making network requests for the AI features, and playing haptic feedback when you press a key.

Granting Full Access does not give us your typing. The keyboard has no code that transmits what you type, with or without it. Without Full Access the keyboard still works — typing, correction, suggestions and on-device skills are all unaffected — but AI features and haptics are unavailable, because iOS blocks the network and the Taptic Engine.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell, rent or trade your data.
  • We do not use advertising networks or advertising identifiers.
  • We do not include analytics, attribution, or crash-reporting SDKs.
  • We do not build a profile of you, and we do not track you across apps or websites.
  • We do not log or store the text you send to the AI features.

How long anything is kept

Data on your device stays until you delete it in the app or delete the app. We hold no copy of it. Purchase records held by RevenueCat and Apple are retained for as long as needed to keep your purchase working and to meet tax and accounting obligations. Text sent to an AI provider is retained according to that provider’s policy, linked above.

Children

Kamry is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, write to us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Because we hold almost nothing about you, most requests are answered quickly — usually by pointing out that the data in question is on your device and under your control.

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to withdraw consent, to object to or restrict processing, and to complain to a regulator. This includes rights under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the EU/UK GDPR, and the California Consumer Privacy Act.

To exercise any of these, email official@abrossit.com. We aim to respond within 30 days. You can exercise most of them yourself, immediately, from within the app: turn off phrase learning, delete learned words, or delete the app to remove everything.

International transfers

We operate from India. The AI providers and payment services named above operate globally and may process requests on servers outside your country. Where required, transfers rely on the recipient’s own safeguards, described in their policies.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes. The current version always lives at kamry.abrossit.com/privacy.
